The other budget option you have is the Gaggia Classic which is about $600.

They are very good value for money.

    Doppler,

Is it irreparable ? Unless it is an expensive component that has gone to God I would think it could be resurected.

    Ive sent you a PM.

    Stelz

    Hi Doppler

First question: do you have a grinder? If not, conventional wisdom would say to spend $300+ of your budget on this - the sponsors can no doubt help you out with some grinder recommendations!

Of course this doesnt leave you with many options for the machine. By reputation, the Breville Ikon is about the only halfway respectable machine in that range.

If you do have a grinder, the Rancillo Silvia and Sunbeam EM06910 are both "good" machines in your price range - a search of this site will yield plenty of comparison and theres a comparative review here: http://www.coffeetamper.com.au/**/reviews/sunbeam-silvia/

    Good luck!

I need advice on what machine(s) to get as my old Napolitana seems to have given up the ghost.
    I have a budget of around $500 - $700.
