Re: EM6910 .. Door opening when group handle tight
Ok thanks TH.....that’s good to know. I dont drink str8 espresso, but I do serve it to others at times, and Im not sure it is enjoyed or drunk out of politeness.
Ive never tried a coffee from a La Marzocco.......but they are certainly an impressive looking machine.

Re: EM6910 .. Door opening when group handle tight
The 6910 makes a decent coffee.
Im using the same batch of beans at work and home.
I drink flat whites, so that could mask a little bitterness if it were there.
But my boss drinks espresso and he doesnt take sugar when I make him one.
So I guess that means the Sunbeam makes a sweet coffee with my beans.
I had the owner of the new cafe at work make a few espressos with my beans the other week.
I now have a new bar to aim for.
His La Marzocco made the best espresso Ive ever tasted (no, Im not just saying that because they were my beans).

Re: EM6910 .. Door opening when group handle tight
Thanks TG ..... my door opens only when I apply pressure to the group handle, but usually snaps back shut when the I take the pressure off the handle. Im sure you would notice it (if it were happening to your machine) as it makes a terrible noise as the metal is twisting and contorting!
TG: How have you found the 6910 compared to your Expobar in terms of bitterness? (I havent been to this site for 6 months or so, sorry if you have ansered this question elsewhere).

Re: EM6910 .. Door opening when group handle tight
Thanks guys for your replies.....I think it must be a weak chassis (at least I hope it isnt not indicative of the latest batch of EM6910s). In any event, I will return it in the next week or so.
Giggiaboyi, yes it does how the new steam tip....which is much easier to keep clean.
The portafilters on this latest batch seem to also be a little different, and require much more effort to secure into machine. This may be part of my problem, but certainly this latest machine is the weakest (build wise) of the three EM6910s I have had.
Cheers,
Ash

Re: EM6910 .. Door opening when group handle tight
my door is shut tight! never heard of that mate. would have to be either a really weak magnet (or whatever it is), or like you said a weak chassis. oh well i guess the 6910 upgrade is worth a weak chassis! hey does it have the new steam tip on it?

Re: EM6910 .. Door opening when group handle tight
A Christmas present from Sunbeam.
The 6900 had a few issues and one ptoblem came back 6 days after return from repairs, so they were really nice and swapped it for a new 6910.
Its stock standard atm as I havent gotten around to tweaking the settings.
But still impressed and it appears to have gained more users around the office.
Im due to give a training session, on how to use it, on the 25th.

EM6910 .. Door opening when group handle tightened
Hi All,
I recently received a new EM6910 from Sunbeam, after my old EM6910 was damaged while it was being repaired by sunbeam (sounds strange I know).
Anyway....with the new unit I have noticed a problem. When I tighten the group handle into the machine, and give it a firm push to the left, the back of the machine (the water reservoir door) opens!. It seems as if the whole unit is not very rigid and actually twists with I apply pressure to the handle.
Anyone experienced this? It wasnt an issue with my old machine.
Cheers,
