Ive installed a washer and this has now fixed the problem!  ;D
So instead of 4, what setting are you on now that youve installed the washers? Cos Ive got mine on 4 and Im not sure if its a machine issue.

Are you using the pressurised or non-pressurised baskets?
not sure about what theyre called, but Im using the ones for when grinding my own coffee (I can see through the holes) - not the ones with the extra floor.

    cheers,
    John
Thats fine, youre using the right ones then. Be interested to see if the grinder mod helps.

i had the same issue, but realised it was just the grinder was crap - i have to run my grinder on say 4 to get my right shot in the double basket. (i NEVER use single anymore). With fresh beans, right grind and tamp, you WILL get good crema trust me.
Yes, even on 4 I dont get a good shot. I rang the Sunbeam supportline who mentioned that they had some customers having issues with the grinder (having to use a really low grind number) and the guy that developed the coffee machine has had a look and recommended using some washers between the burrs? Anyway they are sending me some washers (and some instructions I hope) so Ill see how it goes.

    cheers,
    John

EM6910 - single basket good, double bad

Hi, hope you guys can help me!

Ive had my 6910 since last fathers day and got the free grinder with it. I generally drink doubles so regularly use the double basket. Over a period of time Ive had to slowly ramp down the grind number to try and get good pressure and a decent shot. I currently run it on about 4 and its still giving me crema-less shots! Ive removed the black thingy in the head in desparation and had no change. Then I thought Id give the single shot basket a go and got a really nice shot! Ive cleaned out the grinder but no improvement... Can anyone help please?

    Thanks,
    John
