I got a new seal with spacer for the 6900 before it died.

Funnily enough all the service agents I spoke to had not heard of the spacer.

This ones been going good so far but the PF needs to go all the way to the right after only 3 months use.
This is very normal TG, no need for concern unless youre getting leaking problems, and if so, youll need a new seal and possibly the spacer, which I asked for and they sent without question. This helps with a better longer term sealing. I also found that the Synesso double ridgeless seal up better than the Sunbeam baskets...

Yes Thundergod, i will keep my fingers crossed.

For now Im going to block out all the negatives and enjoy my daily coffees while they last.....

I guess Im prepared for something to happen, so it probably wont come as too much of a shock

Ill do some research on this site, look for an alternative machine (like a rancillo silvia?) and stay well clear of the sunbeams

I had a 6900 at work that seemed to be an exception.

Then the gasket need replacing and the new one didnt fix the leaks so it went to sunbeam for the head bolts being stripped and just before it got packed up for the courier the steam pump died.

When it came back the steam pump lasted 5 days.
They hadnt replaced it becuase it was working when it got there.

It looked problematic by this stage so they offered me a new 6910 which I promptly went and picked up same afternoon.

Admittedly its get a lot more use than the old 6900 though.

Actually I bought a used EM6900 from ebay a month and a half ago. I wasnt a CS member so I had no idea about the terrible reviews it was getting on this website.

When I first got the machine I was sooo worried and was expecting it to blow up or something. Suprisingly the machines going really well, Im producing a fantastic coffee from it.

Nothing has broken or started leaking YET lol. When it does, ill prob get myself an EM6910

    The 6900s were very unreliable.

Hi Kimmo my understanding is you cannot adjust the espresso temp on the 6900 or the steam wettness. So I would give it a miss

    No, steer well clear.

There were a number of serious reliability problems with the 6900 that were at least partly fixed in the 6910.

    Hi,
there seem to be a EM6900 on eBay. Would that be a good alternative for EM6910 in case it goes for a low price?

    Cheers, Kimmo
