Thanks for the pics javabeen. That is the same spout that we have at work and I really like the way it pours. I think I may buy one too.

I had the same problem with my VBM with the spout being lower than my previous machine. I got around it by make two coffees and not one as one cup fits under with out any problem, and the highlight of the machine is making the coffee not just drinking it. I had an uneven pour as well, though I have moved where I had originaly put my machine to another bench in the kitchen and it has made a difference.

Very nice pics there TG. Thats the same spout that came with my Levetta that gave me uneven pours.

I might post some pics of the pours that come from this new spout, they look great.

    Stay tuned.

    Hi Mark,

I bought the "professional" spout your talking about for my Levetta after experiencing uneven flow between the 2 spouts. It fixed the problem and I reckon you get a better pour as well.

    Got it from coffeeparts http://coffeeparts.com/misc/511672-A.htm

My Levetta came with the stock standard al cheapo spout that you have as well. With the new pro spout, you can quickly tell when you get the rat tails as the spout has a groove in it. Anyg flow thats larger than this groove and Ive found it indicates the pour is not right ie too fast.

This spout means I cant fit a regular latte glass under the spout. It has to be on an angle and wathed so it doesnt slip. But espresso cups are no drama.

Looks the same as on my Expobar.

I have a similar problem with the lever if Im using the double spout but can manage to catch the shots by angling the cups a bit; the left one back a bit anf the right one forward (towards me) to give the lever more room.

Not sure how to add images but the picture on the bottom would be a pro spout I think.  Im sure there are many designs though.

    Mark,

That looks like the one that came with my Domobar, except it has the cover over the spout the same as the top pic.

What did you get with your machine?

    Greg
Mine is like the one shown in this link http://www.willoughbyscoffee.com/page/WCT/PROD/BRW/PVNI

    Hi Mark,

These were the ones I was trying to describe to you in my last post.

A quick look through Coffeeparts catalogue shows that they stock the
identical item, looks like in two parts, the portafilter holder...and the offset spouts.

Im told the only advantage to these offset spouts is that they can even-up the flow of espresso out of each side if you are experiencing unneven flow out of the spout.

    Regards

    Trevor

    Whats a pro spout?
I mean a profesional spout on the portafilter.
I understood what you meant...but I dont know what they are.
Do you have a picture of one?

    Re: Levetta drip tray

    Hi Mark,

I use the portafilter and baskets as supplied, usually the double basket, even when making singles.

Having used commercial machines, I see nothing "unprofessional" about the portafilter as supplied...in fact it is interchangeable with
commercial machine portafilters. In fact, they are a little more solid than portafilters supplied with some commercial machines.

Do you mean offset spouts? If so, they would not fit, in their normal configuration, due to the E61 plumbing. Guess you could swivel them around to face the front, rather than the back. I personally would not bother with offset spouts.

I dont have hassles with fitting cups or mugs under the spout...I just use ones that fit well.
