Re: Saeco Via Venezia Combi - Grinder dead
My grinder became unreliable because the microswitch was failing. I replaced it with a stock item from Farnells and it is running much better. Their part number is 521-863 for a sealed microswitch. The one I took out wasnt sealed, and liked to eat coffee. The switch has a long arm which you have to cut to length. Hope this helps.

Re: Saeco Via Venezia Combi - Grinder dead
Beanfiend, this could be your lucky day!! My last machine was a Via Venezia Combi running a non-pressurised portafilter. Although it did an OK job, I decided to upgrade to the VBM Domobar Super & Rocky grinder. I bought the Rocky before the VBM arrived so I had the opportunity to test it with the Saeco. WOW, what a difference!!! The Saecos grinder was letting me down big time. I now wonder what the Saeco wouldve achieved with my current Mazzer Mini.

Re: Saeco Via Venezia Combi - Grinder dead
I used to have one of those machines. Occasionally the grinder would jam and stop working. This may be the same problem you are having. Pressing the grind release button repeatedly (while the grind button was depressed) would often get it going again, and/or giving the grinder a good clean out with a vacuum cleaner (both the bean hopper end, as well as the exit chute).
regards,
Bill

Saeco Via Venezia Combi - Grinder dead
Hi,
I have a Saeco Via Venezia Combi whose grinder has decided to pack it in. The machine is about 7 years old and has worked perfectly up till now.
I was wondering if anyone knew where I could get a hold of some circuit diagrams for this model or if someone out there has had a similar problem? Ive taken a look under the hood and there is no visible damage or suspicious burnt smell.
Thanks in advance,
