    Hi Lofty,

Might I suggest that you may wish to short list the Vibiemme Domobar Levetta (Vashetta) as well?

Pricing is good and its a very impressive performer.

As others have mentioned, put aside a minimum of $300 (preferably more) for a suitable grinder and always use good fresh beans

    Good luck in your search.

    Chris

Maybe a sponser or someone with direct experience could post their thoughts, pros/cons on these machines. I would also very interested to to know more. Would I be right in saying that the Isomac Venus is similar to the Silvia except that it has a bigger boiler and retails for somewhere around the $1000 mark?

There is a lot of good information on this thread http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1191914230/0

May I also suggest you put your grinder way above the machine in terms of priority?

    Isomac machines

    Hi CS members

I am a new member and would like some help in selecting a new machine. I previously owned a Spidem fully auto which has since died. I am now ready to step up to a real machine and have spied the Isomac range. Does anyone have thoughts/ experiences with this brand of coffee machine? Also need advice on an acceptable grinder. Budget approx $1500.

    Thanks for your comments.
    Lofty
