  • Help!  Which one...?

    Hiya Everyone!

I have a Briel Chamonix manual machine that I brought with us from the Uk and it was a fabulous little machine. But it is dying a painful death and nobody here services them or can get parts.

So I am allowed to get a new one for Mothers Day (yippee)! ;D

But I am really unsure of what to get. We have walked around the stores and been bombarded with the sales talk and I am more confused than ever.

I want a manual machine where i can change the beans often if I want to experiment. I usually only make one coffee at a time without milk but when we entertain I could be making a lot at a time - of all descriptions (lattes, cappuccinos, espressos) and need something that will handle that. We dont have a lot of bench space so a smaller machine would be better. And I have been told that a dounle boiler is best (is this right???).

All advice would be greatly appreciated. I LOVE my coffee and would like to learn how to make a fantastic cup everytime.

    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Chelle and welcome,

<<<<<<< Over there are a big list of sponsors who will be keen to match you with the right machine within your budget and provide lots of support as well. My advice would be to stay away from toaster and vacuum sales people and deal with a specialist who is passionate about coffee.

Some suggestions to get you going include a Rancilio Sivia or Vibiemme Domobar Levetta- just to name a couple.

Hopefully you already have or a budgeting for a good grinder. As for great fresh beans, youre in the right place!

    Enjoy the journey

    regards

    Chris
