Ive been getting odd pours for the past couple of days now from my Levetta. They start off quite fast and think/lumpy/ooze out in glumps and then towards the end of the shot, they slow down and flatten out.
Ive had this with the past 2 bean varieties Ive used - Indian Chickmagalur and Yemen Ismaili, which I roasted.
The grind is a touch finer than normal. I have not changed my dosing, distribution method or tamping. The dose is good - the pf fits into the group with resistance and I get the imprint from the group on the puck when I remove the pf.
Im thinking its either the beans, or something is going on with the machine/pump.
Funnily enough, the pours are 45-55ml in 25-30 secs, and taste good.
Im use to the constant even pours from start to finish, and now I get fast starts and slow finishes!
I havent got around to grinding finer yet - Im thinking this might just choke the Levetta to death given the slow finishes.
Any ideas what might be going on?
