  • Advice on new Italian machine

After the failure of the second cheap machine in 3 years it’s time to go back to an Italian made machine as my old Saeco gave me 15+ years of service without missing a beat.

    What would you recommend?

At this stage I’m considering a Gaggia Classic or a Rancilio Silvia as I am looking to spend up to $1200.

    Thanks.

Worth throwing Lelit into he mix at that pricepoint especially the PID versions. S/H may open up your choices

Rancilio have it on build quality with the Silvia V6 for mine.

$1.2k or thereabouts buys some terrific pre-loved stuff. Saw an absolutely immaculate Giotto Premium plus a couple of weeks ago which was snagged for $1.3k including a really good grinder. Great buys are out there...

New you could also have a look at ECM Casa IV and the Lelit PL41 series machines. The Lelit seem to get heaps of love on here for making good machines, I have never owned or worked on one.
