Thanks Leroy I just put 17 in and that was about right so now that I have an idea of what is optimal and how it looks in the basket I can stop over dosing. I think historically i have put in well over 20g. Cheers

It’s not a particularly large basket so somewhere in the 15-18g range will work depending on the roast level of the coffee you’re using and your grinder. 14g might be a little low and >20g is definitely too much.Originally posted by roscored1000 View PostIt is something i havent really thought too much about but I am curious what is the general consensus from those that have the knowledge. I use the single wall double shot basket that has the slightly tapered sides on my EM6910. I was wondering what is the ideal gram dose of grounds for this basket. Is it 14gm or 21gr or something like that. I assume you just zero the portafilter and basket on the scales and add coffee till your happy with the weight? Any tips for a general not too pedantic coffee drinker? thanks
