I'm trying to assess the value of a used Sunbeam EM7000 machine if I decided to sell it. Let me explain...
We've had if for years and it's been a brilliant machine. Barely ever had an issue until recently, despite pushing it pretty hard for a long time. Lately however, the steam wand is starting to play up, in that it won't shut off properly. I looked at repairs, but everywhere has multiple weeks of wait time and usually involves the machine being gone for weeks on end while they assess, wait for parts, and then do the work. I simply can't be without a machine that long.
So then we considered an upgrade. Haven't decided what we want yet, but that's a separate issue.
The question is whether we fork out for the repairs (likely $150-$250) hoping to make that back, or whether we sell it for parts. Would love to know whether people think that there is sufficient value in an older machine in good order or whether it's a lost cause.
