I replied back to SegaFredo with "But if it was on Stand-By why would the water heat up and if the water heats up then it's not in standby mode right?", they replied back with "Yes that is true, it could also be that while on stand-by the water is kept at a certain temperature sort of half way.".

This seems very strange behaviour but the replies are coming from the experts Gaggia have in Australia I thought I had to check here to see if anyone else experienced this.

    Gaggia Classic 2019 Problem

    Hi,

Question for anyone using a Gaggia Classic 2019 machine. I have only had the machine for a month and it seems to have developed an intermittent fault. I assume the operation should work like this:
    1) From cold, turn the power on (first light), wait 1 min and 30 seconds and the hot water ready light turns on (middle light).

The problem I'm seeing is this:
From cold, turn the power on, wait for a full 20 mins and the hot water ready light does not turn on at all. The water is hot and ready to brew though. Only when i flick the steam on and off quickly does the light turn on for the hot water. The machine auto turns off after 20 mins. But even when I press the power button again the hot water light does not turn on.

Sorry seems like a basic question but the reason is that I got the below question as something to test from SegaFredo but to be honest I was not even aware there was a standby function where the Power Light would be the only thing that turns on for a full 20 mins.

"The only scenario when the machine only has the first light indicator is when it is on stand-by, and then would turn off after approx 20 min. So if you press the coffee switch instead, I think the machine will then go from stand-by to on within 90 seconds." - Anyone experiencing this that has a Gaggia Classic 2019?
