I havent seen this problem mentioned elsewhere, but my EM6910 started making a noise like the pump was running when I filled the reservoir. The noise continued even after I switched the machine off - ie no lights on, but pump noise going. I unplugged it and waited a couple of hours and the problem was resolved.
However, today, the same thing happened again. Refilled and the noise started. I suspect there is an internal leak and the water is making contact with the internal pump switch. Unplugged and after an hour, back to normal. Clearly, this is not acceptable - and probably not safe either.
Of course, these things have to happen on a Sunday, but first thing tomorrow, Ill be giving Sunbeam a call. Luckily, the service centre is not too far away, but Im not looking forward to the week to 15 days without the machine!!
Ill keep you all posted.
