Which is really impressive until you look closely at the image above you can probably see that the La Pav was inserted after the original photo was taken, which is this one ...

I discovered this after I "knowingly" told a friend that John and Yoko has a La Pav. Oops.

The fact that they haven't done anything to upgrade it is the reason I haven't bought one.
I am also not buying a Morris Minor.

I love my little La Pav.
It's perfect for me in the mornings. I can do the school run, come home, flick it on, make a cuppa and I don't have to wait 40 minutes for the Splendor to heat up.

I'm thinking of fixing up my la pavoni after it has sat unused with a broken sleeve for 2 years or so. Has anyone seen any upgrades for the plastic base plate and feet for a millennium professional? Mine are pushed in and if the whole base is gonna be replaced then I may as well swap it for something better.

There arent' many options with the base. The factory La Pavoni one is the one I know of.

If you are replacing the nylon piston sleave I would recommend looking at the custom brass option. Helps with heat stability and will wear better

La Pavoni Prof arrived a couple of weeks ago. First few shots were rather unpleasant and Mrs C returned hers to the kitchen very quickly, asking why I didn't just continue with the Breville.

Yes, it took a while to dial the grinder (Macap M2) and to wait a few days until the freshly roasted beans (Behmor - Snobs green beans) were ready. After that there has been no returns - all good.

I must say it took longer to get the milk steamed nicely. I have the single hole nozzle but find the positioning of jug / nozzle was tricky. It's getting better now - even if I can't exactly say what I am doing different. Not at latte art consistency yet but getting there.

A strange thing. La Pav is getting me up earlier - I look forward to firing it up in the morning and seeing what extra little trick will improve the end result today.

PS: thanks to Casa Espresso for speedy delivery to Tas. Now 3 weeks in and the output is very enjoyable. I have a poorly Appartamento in the shed - will I bother to fix it? Not for a while anyway.

The best improvement has been to 3D print a WDT, get some 3D printer nozzle cleaners, add them to the WDT and get rid of the lumps in the ground coffee. I find the Pav needs quite a fine grind and, with the Macap, this leads to clumping. Before I was getting fissures in the puck - now none and some of the variability in result has gone.

I have an old Europiccola that needs a whole lot of new gaskets etc. Ill be ordering from coffee sensor direct, since Casa Espresso doesnt carry stock for the pre mil machines. If anyone else wants some things let me know, since we would get free shipping if we go over 300euro, or can atleast split the shipping. cheers
