I agree with Ninja, there is water and electricity in here, seeing a s/h working unit is worth a $100 and assuming your non worker probably was $10 or $20 or free, not worth killing yourself over $20.
That said, you usually prime from the inlet side of the pump. I would have pulled the pipe out of the tank and filled with water, then turned pump on. If it sucked that water up I would drop it back in the tank. This is general as have never been near these machines. Be very careful if you do this, people die and your level of knowledge makes you a likely candidate (not being rude, just emphasising don't kill yourself over $20)

Thanks.
Now that I have opened the machine, I would like to try and do it myself. Got it second hand and keen to get it going without having to pay for a technician. While I am sure a technician will do a great job, would prefer to do it myself.

Priming means filling with water, not forcing anything through. Might be best left to someone who knows what they're doing.

Well, I am not sure what exactly i am trying to do.....
I want the machine to work. The brew head and the hot water to work.
Is priming forcing water through the machine? Which tubes should I use for that ..... before Ukla motor or after Ukla motor.
Here is the set up I have done using a pressure can from bunnings. Could not find big syringes to do the job. I have been pumping for dearlife, but have not been able to force any water through the hot water spout or brew head. I even turned on the machine with the hot water tab open.
Stuck
Please help

If it's priming you are trying to do, then the hose coming off the bottom of the red pump is for the brew head. You can also undo metal nut on top of the pump to force water through the hot water wand.
Have you take the shower screen off as well to check that's all clean?

Hi
I have managed to remove the back panels of the machine.
Cant really make much sense of the tubing yet.
I have posted video after turning on the machine with the back removed
https://youtu.be/ZOUhY8x-FjY
I need some advice about the next step.
I note that the tubing leading upwards from the moving water level is empty I think this may be going into the espresso pump. Thus, the pump is running dry as suggested by the great members previously.
What should I do? where should I injecting the vinegar / water solution?
Thanks
Angelo

Thank you for your responses.
I have found a few manuals on the documentation section. Might try and open the machine up this weekend.
Will keep the post updated on my progress

Just watched your videos, the pump is operating, sorry, I should have viewed them before commenting. Have a look at the repair manual and remove the covers, you will be able to see the water route and identify the problem. There is a video somewhere on the site that describes getting the covers off but I cannot find it.

You will find a manual in the documentation sub forum, go to mid range machines then sub forums. You will find lots there that will lead you through the fixes.
First thing to check is the pump, do you hear the pump operating when you hit the brew button? You can hear the steam pump when you operate that, you should also hear the brew pump when you operate that. Most machines do not need priming, they are designed to self prime.

Syringe full of water up the feed line to the pump.
May need to have hot water tap turned on so water can exit.
Maybe machine is blocked up, so might need a vinegar solution injected. Or descaler...

Thanks very much.
I turned on both the hot water and the steam wand again. After about 3 minutes the machine turned itself off. The steam wand works powerfully, but the hot water did not (only a few drops). I could turn the machine on again after that. However the problem persists.
With regards to the machine running dry (please excuse me for my ignorance), would the steam wand work if there was no water in the machine?
Priming the machine...
I am handy and happy to do it myself if someone can tell me how to manually prime the machine.

Manually priming the lines is something a technician would do by disconnecting the hoses before and after the pump and filling them with water before reconnecting them. All with the machine unplugged of course.

Hi
Thank you very much for your response.
Hot water tap - maybe 2-3 minutes
Brewing switch - may be up to 5 minutes
How do I manually prime the lines?
Kind regards
Angelo

Sounds like it's running dry, how long did you run the hot water tap for at any one time? Could require manual priming of the lines...
