Adjusting the inner conical burr did the trick, thanks to everyone for the help!

That did the trick! The grinder is about 3 years old, so maybe it was about time.
Thanks for your help!

Is the coffee extracting much faster than usual and is watery/weak? If it is then it's your beans or grinder.
If it isn't, it's likely a blocked port in the group solenoid from a swollen teflon sealing disc or other blockage (scale) or a failing coffee pump and/or OPV.
When you test with the cleaning disc, how long does the machine take to reach 10 bar? If it's fast (within 3-5 seconds) it's your pump/OPV at fault, if it's slow (5+ seconds) then it's probably the solenoid blockage.
This solenoid issue only affected only a relatively small batch of machines before they fixed it with metal inserts in the discs.
Also if by some miracle your machine is an original BES900 from 2011, it'll still have o-rings on the solenoid, all of these failed and caused pressure and leaking issues. I would highly doubt yours is one of these unless it's made only a few hundred coffee's over it's life. You can check the serial number to confirm the age, in the water tank area, on the left is a barcode. The first 4 numbers are the year and week of manufacture, eg. 1433 is the 33rd week of 2014.

Have you adjusted the inner conical burr?Originally posted by Birddog727 View PostHey all,
I have my Breville smart grinder on the finest setting and that makes no help at all. I then thought the grinder might be the problem, so I took grinder apart as much as I could and cleaned it out thoroughly and tried again. Still only got 2 psi when I pulled the shot.
Any suggestions?
Introduced about 2016/17.

Are you sure Killer Coffee Industrial Blend is safe for your Breville with it's plastic parts?
Agree with Barry , what is the roast date?

'Freshly opened'....how about freshly roasted? Does the Killer Coffee bag have a roast date on it?
I'm guessing there's no visible damage to the double basket (either in the base or rim)?

The pressure didn't go up at 20g,or with a finer grind setting. I tested today using a new freshly opened bag of killer coffee industrial blend.

Is it fresh coffee? (did you pick up the coffee recently from a supermarket?) Did the press go up at 20gr? Is it Aldi coffee?
Your machine is clearly OK, so must be coffee, grind or quantity.

Yes, I have gone up to 20g of coffee in the basket, normally I use about 18g.

Breville Dual Boiler not building pressure, any suggestion?
Hey all,
Had a problem pop up with my dual boiler recently.
When I pulled a shot the pressure wasn't building past 6psi. So I cleaned the machine a couple of times and backwashed it and the problem got worse, and it didn't go past 2 psi. Strange thing is when I put the silicone cleaning disk in the single basket and do the clean or backwash the pressure goes easily to 10 psi, as soon as I use coffee it does not go past 2 psi.
I have my Breville smart grinder on the finest setting and that makes no help at all. I then thought the grinder might be the problem, so I took grinder apart as much as I could and cleaned it out thoroughly and tried again. Still only got 2 psi when I pulled the shot.
Any suggestions?
