  • EM 6910 steam pump repairs?

I have just replaced a steam pump on my old trusty, very early 6910.

I am wondering, can the old steam pump I took out be ressurrected?

They seem very simple, a few seals and a winding, reason, I have another machine here where the steam pump takes an age to "wake up" once your turn the control knob, takes forever to start pumping.

I cant move it on to anyone in that condition.

I have had no success with them. Other than swapping coils.
Maybe if it's possible to get the sealing ball at the one way valve, it's possible to rebuild them....

      hi Rawill,
was replacing the steam pump a hassle? I've got a very old (2010) EM6910 that I lovingly repaired for ages and the steam pump going was my sign to get a new machine - a more recent version of the EM6910 which I've been fairly unsatisfied with. Maybe I should replace the steam pump on the old one!
      Any tips and advice appreciated!

        Easy to replace.
Run the vinegar solution through the steam circuit for ages (10min or more) till the steam is powering.

So sorry. Never got a note to say I had a post to reply to.

No, once you get the relevant covers off, quite easy to replace.

I have done a couple now.
Last steam pump I bought was from AliExpress, just for fun

Very old EM6910 models are the ones to have.
I have some old ones, and a newer one with old internals, especially the steam thermoblock, which I am told produces better steam.

In practice that seems to be true.

I estimate one machine I have has done over 10,000 shots.
