I love 6 bars, here's a kit, haven't used it as I have an old HX machine
Distro Coffee Labs 9 Bar 6 Bar OPV Spring Modification for Espresso Machines - Compatible with Gaggia Classic : Amazon.com.au: Home
This search on youtube is great for 6 bars- super sweet, rich and also amazingly forgiving

FWIW, I ordered some from China, got 8.5bar which I think is pretty good. I have a bunch available…

Is 24mm x 7mm x 0.7mm the standard spring or the 9 bar version?

Hey,
I have access to a spring maker, and would be able to replicate the 9 and 6.5 and 5 bar if we can rustle up some samples.
they will be made in Melbourne in 0.75mm stainless steel.
alternatively using the pre-mentioned sizes I could play around and get close??
Outer diameter 7mm
length 24mm
we could try different spring rates across the same length as the original 14/15 bar spring?? That may be the 24mm. I’m unsure of the sizes.
appreciate any feedback or comments.

Did this go anywhere in the end? I plan to buy a 9 bar spring, however many suppliers don't post here, or charge post like the spring comes in the glovebox of an attached '58 Chev. Shades of Coffee seems best at $18 for a kit, and they sell lots of other Gaggia improvements for reasonable prices, so I may end up just doing that.....
