  • Good steam but no water coming from Sunbeam Dual Thermoblock EM6910

I have a Sunbeam EM6910 that has been going well for over 10 years. This morning the steam was working fine but no water coming from brew head or the water nozzle on right.

I've done some work on it before (cleaning shower screen, descaling etc etc) but nothing too complex. Is this likely to be a water pump issue? Or solenoid? Cos they cost a lot.

Oh also i have been running it without a water filter as our water is really good here.

    Any ideas folks?

A few more details would help to make a diagnosis.
Can you hear the pump working, is the group head heating up, which brew buttons have you tried, does any water come out in the drip tray?

Looks like this was a loose wire somewhere. I open the case, isolated the power and pressed every connection I could find. Surprise! Now working fine. Out of interest, there was no function happening at all when I pushed any of the water buttons, or when I turned on the water nozzle. Lights on but nobody home. No sounds no nothing. So I’m thinking the wire to the pump or the solenoid was loose. I did have the machine upside down to get at the shower basket a few weeks ago, so maybe that caused a wire to become loose which loosened further with vibration? Thanks for responding.

Good to hear you got it going. A loose connector is a distinct possibility, although I am always wary of inverting these machines as there is the chance of water dripping onto circuitry and causing problems.
