Use normal white vinegar and you can make it more concentrated than that if necessary.

Hi
Did not get around to doing it over the weekend. Can I use cooking vinegar (Aldi white wine vinegar)? 2 tablespoons per litre - 6 in the tank of 3L?
Thanks

Yes that's right. BEFORE running the vinegar solution through adjust the steam settings to what essentially equates to the 'lowest' power and temp. Also once you're onto the clean water flush make sure you flush another whole tank of water through the system.Originally posted by angelodealwis View PostThanks for that detailed answer.
Just to clarify ... before running the vinegar solution to make the adjustment in the steam wetness or steam pump rate to the driest setting and the thermoblock temperature to the lowest possible... have I understood you correctly?
Will give it a try today.

I can’t hear the pump in either video. Is the pump in the first clip running properly? Does it have a regular strong rhythm and does it compare ok to the one in the 2nd clip? If the pump sounds a bit dodgy then you’ve either still got a partial blockage or the pump needs to be replaced. If the pump sounds fine then it’s probably just a case of variation. Not all EM6910s were made equal and the earlier models had very average steam power. My last EM6910 was from about 2014 which was one of the last models. It had the best steam power of any that I’d owned, but I still changed the settings to improve it. You need to increase to max steam temp and max ‘wetness’ this will make the pump run faster which is what you want. Of course if there’s still a partial blockage you need to keep trying to clear it. Most people don’t do this properly so don’t get the outcome they want. When you’re flushing the steam system with vinegar solution you need to adjust the steam settings to the lowest temperature and the ‘dryest’ pump rate. It’s counterintuitive but it actually doesn’t make the steam dryer it just slows the pump down. This along with the lower temp will help soak the system with the solution better. Fill the tank and run about a third of it through then turn the machine off and let it cool right down. Turn it on again and do the next third and the same again before the final third. This should take a few hours all up. Once that’s done refill the tank with clean water and give it one short flush at the same settings before changing the steam to max heat and max wetness. This will put it on full power essentially and if any gunk has come dislodged it should flush it out. I’ve managed to clear complete blockages from 6910s using this method before, including the last and best unit I owned. The first stuff to come through the wand was sometimes a lovely green colour. Let us know how you get on.

EM6910 steam pump weak
I own a second hand EM6910. Makes good espresso, but milk frothing is a bit of a problem.
I think my machine's steam wand is not very powerful.
I have attached two files:
File 1 - is the machine with weak steam (my machine), File 2 another EM6910 with stronger steam. Both are in factory settings. I have attached both so that those who are going to help can compare (using the same phone making both videos)
File 1

File 2

I have attempted to clean my machine with vinegar solution (as suggested in the forum). I have not noticed any change. Hopefully you can hear the steam pump noise.
Do you think i need to replace the steam pump? or is it an issue with gunk getting collected in the steam wand?
Thanking everyone in advance.
