  • BES920 steam boiler overfilling

Hi all - I have post some variation of this elsewhere but things have progressed so though I would start a clean post to see if anyone able to help.
I got my bes920 used recently (which I now regret) and the main problem is that, usually when in power save mode, the pump will randomly turn on and it clearly overfills the steam boiler because the next time I attempt to get steam it spits out lots of water/wet steam - it still makes decent microfoam like this but remains annoying. I initially though I had fixed things by removing and cleaning the 3 level probes for the steam boiler and then draining the steam boiler to reset things = this seems to work for about 24 hours before the problem recurs. I can see no obvious evidence of leaks around the steam boiler and the o rings (at least for the level probes and the steam valve assembly attachments) seem in good condition. I am not sure when the machine was descaled recently - am currently investigating filtration options and machine is currently running on very soft Melbourne tap water. I am not sure if it is worth replacing all of the steam boiler o rings or trying a descale. Thanks to anyone who may be able to shed light.
Working...
