Nothing in those photos looks out of the ordinary for a machine of that age. Looks like a 6910, is that right?

When you say the extraction is very fast, are you getting a normal, lots more than normal, or lots less than normal amount of liquid in the cup?

    Sunbeam EM6910 repair advice

Hey all, hopefully this is the right place to post this. I've had a recent issue with my old Sunbeam espresso machine and was trying to troubleshoot the problem, maybe some of y'all have some knowledge about it.

So the pressure has significantly dropped, extractions are now very fast (6-8 seconds) and watery, and the pressure slowly climbs before hitting a low peak. unfortunately there are no numbers on the gauge, but it fills only about a quarter of the range of the dial. There's also a "new sound", I can't really explain it any more than that but it's new and doesn't sound good haha.

After taking a look inside I can see some light rusting around the brass fittings near the top of the main loop and some light scale near the main pump, and it looks like there's a single "brown" (burnt out?) transistor on the PCB, I've included some images in case they help.

At this point I've experimented with a few different coarseness grades from very fine upwards, and managed to achieve slight improvement, but it's still a very fast and watery extraction, maybe 10 seconds max on the finest grains and full pressure on the tamp. I've also tested with freshly ground beans from a local cafe, same results. The temperature also seems fine, just as hot as it always has been.

I'm thinking it's probably the main pump, it's been a long time since that were replaced. Anyone have experience with this problem or done this kind of repair before? Also, any good places to find replacement parts if I want to attempt the repair myself?

Thanks in advance, and if there's a better place to post this please let me know!

Here's the link to the photos, I just realised I didn't get a pic of the PCB, I think it was close to the middle
