I'll take a look. I think its more or less 90 degrees, certainly not 45 or anything.

Is the group handle locking in at 90 deg to the front of the machine or does it go further across to the right before it is tight? Also try fitting the group handle without the seal to see if the collar has distorted or worn a 'lip' which is causing the group to seize.

does the thermoblock ever come away from the collar or is there a one way valve in there or something that might have gone?

They are coming out while its running. Basically looks like pressure builds up then there is low pressure coffee and grounds everywhere. Should add I've had this and an EM6910 for a decade now so its not me loading it up with coarse ground coffee. Use it 5 plus times a day for years and punches out nicely extracted espresso all the time.

Are the grounds coming out while the pump is running or when the pump stops and you are removing the group handle?

Try a different basket. Sunbeam baskets are known for sometimes developing cracks on the rim

EM7000 leaking grounds
Hello illuminati. Yesterday the EM7000 spat grounds at me at the end of a pour. It got worse during the day. I have now replaced the rubber seal and cleaned out the two filters and before I popped the new seal in I cleaned around the where the seal would sit to remove the build up of scale and cr@p. What's my next port of call?
