The gasket I have is quite worn but I think it is solid with no hole in the middle (even though the seat has a hole). I don't see a link for this gasket on coffee-A-roma.
I can see something on ebay which looks similar to what I removed.
'Rancilio Silvia ORING & GASKET for Adjustable Over Pressure valve -after 2006' from coffee_spares.
Think i will have to go with ebay.

Thanks - I think i'll go ahead and order a replacement gasket.
I did disassemble the solenoid from the base and didn't find any problems.
I'll probably re-do this again just to make sure and check the group head also.
Thanks again.

Yes, that black gasket is a common failure and the hot water return to the tank is indicative of this. You can get just those gaskets as a spare part from Coffee-A-Roma.
Regarding the low flow from the group head, it's pretty much always a blockage in the solenoid. You mentioned you have checked it and found no issues, did you disassemble the solenoid body from the base? There could be some scale flakes that you didn't see. Also, check the ports on the group head for any blockages. Very unlikely to be the cause but possible.

With O-ring removed - actually the O-ring is probably not as bad as I thought.
However the Gasket just dropped out and it looks like the top black section is corroded quite badly.
I'm not sure at this point whether I need to try to remove the other two OPV connections to the machine.
Or whether just replacing the gasket could resolve the issue.

Thanks, sounds like I need to try to take off this OPV and see if there is anything broke/worn inside.
I'll let you know how I go.

Sounds like a dodgy OPV opening below 9 bar. If steam pressure is causing it to vent back to the tank then it's opening around 1 bar or so

Rancilio Silvia - Coffee coming out in drops & Machine too-hot when steam switch on
I've had my Rancilio Silvia (unmodified) since 2014. I clean my machine but not as as regularly as I should.
12 months ago I replaced the Gasket and shower screen.
Its been great all this time but then about a week ago I noticed the two issues below at the same time:
1. When I try to make coffee using the brew switch only a very small trickle comes out.
A little over a few drops.
2. When I flick the switch to steam the milk (even before i turn the knob) i can hear a loud knocking sound
and i can see what appears to be very hot water coming out the return tube into the water tank.
If i leave the steam switch on for any length of time the whole coffee machine seems to get very hot.
What have I tried:
I backwashed the machine.
I de-scaled the machine.
I have made sure the port-filter is clean.
I took apart and cleaned the 3-way valve - but it didn't appear to be very dirty.
I have pushed on the Brew Thermostat - but it didn't make any difference. (It didn't appear to be pushed out anyway).
If i turn on the machine and immediately switch on the water switch and turn the knob - water jets out of the wand - so I believe my pump is ok.
Any ideas? I guess my next step will be to take it to the shop.
