Re: Sunbeam Em6910 steam tip
cazyhawkins,
The 6900/6910 have standard 58mm baskets. In fact the size, profile (and volume of coffee) of the Sunbeam double basket is almost identical to the Synesso ridgeless double.

Thanks for that JavaB.
What about the filter basket? Is it standard size?

Re: Sunbeam Em6910 steam tip
crazyhakins,
You need a LOT of steam to drive a three hold tip (unless the holes are very small - and almost useless!)..... You need the pressure more than the volume of steam for texturing and more holes will lower the pressure.
A thermoblock would really struggle with anything other than a single hole tip..... more holes really require a boiler supplying the steam..... and a reasonable sized boiler at that!

Re: Sunbeam Em6910 steam tip
the steam tip supplied onyl has one hole. Im wanting to put a 3 hole tip on it. i know there were rumours sunbeam would upgrade the steam tip, but it seems it must be the same as the 6900 cause it only has one hole.

Re: Sunbeam Em6910 steam tip
Sunbeam now has a new steam tip which seems easier to clean. No idea about improved performance though.

Sunbeam Em6910 steam tip
Sorry if this has already been posted and answered, havent bveen able to find it anywhere.
I want to know if you can replace the standard steam tip on the machine with a commercial one? If so, what brand can I use, is there size specifications that I can use to buy a new one.
Whilke Im at it, what filter basket can I put in the portafilter. I saw people say you can replace it. Is there anything I need to know when looking at getting a replacement?Tags: None
