Thanks. I spoke to jetblack last week and they gave me the parts list but I decided to take the machine in for repair. That was a mistake. The thread looks very bad in the picture.

The threads on that tap rod are absolutely annihilated. The threads in the valve may or may not be ok, you'll have to look inside the valve and see if the threads have sharp edges with sloped sides like those on the tap rod do. They're both brass so likely have similar amounts of wear.
The nut should be ok, it doesn't do anything other than stop the rod coming out all the way.
New tap rod part no 2200064 and valve 2200065 should get you out of trouble. Jetblack sell these.

As a minimum you need a new tap rod, the thread is damaged, probably a new valve body also;

After further inspection it seems the tap rod is a little bit loose and sometimes misaligns from the stop nut.

Lelit pl41 steam tap issue
My lelitPL41 steam tap has started playing up. Sometimes when I open the valve the steam tap never stops turning. Usually it gets to a certain point and stops. Whenever this happens the valve doesn't close either. I sent it to a service centre in Adelaide and they told me it's fine and you don't need to wind the knob all the way out. I know this but it's not the point lol. Any suggestions? I'm not sure if I need a new steam tap rod or if the valve might need replacing aswell. The rod looks ok tho.Last edited by yldlj; 30 July 2022, 02:06 PM.
