So I ran it on a 15A circuit outside, didnt trip circuit, but pumped about 2/3 of a shot, then pressure gauge dropped suddenly to zero .
pump can still pump to the water wand but wont pump thru the group head....
could it be opv?

Hi,
we only have one outlet circuit, so its one the same RCD, we did have a RCD for hot water die a year or so ago, so could be that
we do have a 15A circuit in the garage, will try that.
I don't use the power switch, we turn it on at the power point, so the power switch is always "on" as its in a location that is to hard to access

Couple of thoughts on what it could be;
1) Faulty/overloaded power circuit which is tripping only when under load. The RCD breaker could actually be faulty and is tripping at lower than its rated amperage - have you tested it on another circuit & power outlet?
2) Solenoid - which is causing a ground fault tripping leaking under heat/pressure
3) Power switch - I have had machines with faulty power switches which caused intermittent faults

It has not tripped while idle,
I left it on fro an hour or so and it was fine,
then brewed and it tripped

Hi,
cheers for the replies
I happened to have a pump , as I bought it a while back ,
so changed that over,
(which seemed rather easy, was expecting a swearing fest)
certainly pumps easier but still trips, under load about 20 seconds into the brew
I need to run it with the cover off and see if there is any water leaking anywhere
I have descaled and back flushed,
the OPV seems to work fine when using a blind filter etc.
the only corrosion was on to boiler inlet or outlet,
( bloody photos didnt work so I will take them again today,) but to me did seem like it would be a cause of this fault

Hows it look under the covers? Water leaks or corrosion evident?

Tripping power means it's electrical. If you haven't already, then I'd thoroughly descale and backflush with espresso cleaner.
Is the OPV blocked? I assume it's not leaking.
If that doesn't fix then the pump is a possibility. Easy to replace if you can gain access and fairly cheap.
Has it ever tripped with no pump running?

Lelit Combi /Anita tripping PCD PCD and pump struggling when hot
Hi All I have a Lelit Combi, that is about 5 years old, used daily and pretty well serviced,
it has recently started struggling to actually " pump" when the pump is switched on, but eventually gets going
and works fine,
it only even gets " stuck "if it been sitting at full temp for a while,
,
always flows straight away when it cold to prime the system
in last few weeks it occasionally trips the PCD for the circuit, when under load ( pumping to brew).
I took it to local coffee machine service, however it didn't do any of the strange things while they had it.
any ideas?
should I change pump? it has a ULKA type vibratory pump
Cheers for any ideas
