How to remove Steam tap rod from steam knob for Lelit Anita?

Thanks for the input - I ended up pulling it straight off by using a pair of locking pliers, the new one slid straight in!

From memory isn't there a grub screw on the steam knob? Just turn it slowly round and look for it. If not I think a push fit. Either way I applaud your approach. My Lelit PL41TEMD was either push or grub screw, but I replaced the steam knob after the first went so can't remember accurately

How to remove Steam tap rod from steam knob for Lelit Anita?
Hi everyone, got a seemingly stupid question - I'm trying to remove the steam tap rod from the steam knob on my Lelit Anita PL042TEMD, and couldn't for the life for me figure out how this is done.
There appears to be a metal tab at the end that's holding the rod in, I've tried poking at it with a flat screwdriver and pulling the knob at the same time to no avail.
Has anyone got experience in how to remove this? Many thanks in advance!!
