Thanks for the reply guys. I was tempted but I finally tracked down a decent deal on a second hand BDB so I went with that option.

No experience with EMM7200 but i have a EM7000 for 2 years and previous owner had it for another 2 years. It's been reliable, easy to use and simple to maintain. i find it pulls shots as good as my friend's BDB, not big enough of a difference to say BDB is the winner.
i think its awesome that both use 58mm baskets so you can outfit yourself with aftermarket accessories like VST baskets and pullman tampers which if you decide to upgrade to a more premium E61 machine then the accessories are transferable.

small weakness is just the heating time being a bit slower than BDB and milk steamer can be slower as a result too. i've had a look at the EMM7200 at shops before, only thing I can comment on is that the build felt cheaper than the EM7000. Lighter and plasticy.

I stumbled across the Sunbeam in my travels and the specs dont seem to bad, but I can't see to find much about the new(ish) model either on coffee sites/forums/youtube. Anyone tried one?
The Breville Dual Boiler is definitely superior to the Sunbeam so if you can find one on sale I'd definitely recommend holding out and getting one of them instead. However the Sunbeam is a good unit and is very easy to use. The brew thermoblocks in the new machines aren't quite as good as the old EM6910s, but it still does a pretty good job and the milk steamer is good. I've heard the milk thermometer isn't particularly accurate so don't rely on it too much, but otherwise it's an easy steamer to use. The one thing I'd recommend if you do get one is to check if the portafilter has a plastic insert in it. If it does then make sure you remove it as they're notorious for collecting gunk under them.
