Wrong Silvia v2 steam adapter

No the thread was all wrong. M8. Tested it with a thread tester. The existing steam adapter for the old wand had 1/16 BSP threads. I wonder if the V1 Silvia might have used M8 threads, but I can't find any information on it.

Will a little teflon tape help? The good stuff will be usable in the steam temp range.

Solved it by getting a 1/4 BSP to 3/8 BSP adapter at bunnings. It's a bit too long and it doesn't have the sealing flange of the other adapter, but it will at least work ok until I get a bit shorter adapter ordered through aliexpress (though still without a sealing flange).
Edit: this is with the existing adapter in place that held the old steam wand.

Wrong Silvia v2 steam adapter
I've been fixing up an early v2 Silvia, and was looking at replacing the swivelling steam wand. I have a few ball joint steam wands lying around from some em6900, which seems to use 3/8 BSP threads, so I though ordering a Silvia steam adapter fitting on Ebay which is advertised as fitting the v1/v2
But it doesn't fit. It looks like an M8 thread, but the threads on my machine looks to be 1/16 BSP. Does anyone know the exact fitting sizes on the early v2?
From the looks of it, I could possibly also use a female - male 1/4 BSP to 3/8 BSP fitting, which I believe are the thread sizes for the swivelling and ball joint steam wands respectively?
Edit: in the first picture, new adapter from Ebay at the top, the adapter currently used with the swivelling steam wand at the bottom. Last picture: the adapter does't go into the steam valve at all.
Edit: my BSP sizes might be completely off.
