Hi Folks. Recently I've started getting grinds in my coffee using my 4-year old EM7000. I've also noticed that the main pump has been making strange noises. These issues may be related. So I have 2 questions:
Firstly, what's the mechanism by which grinds end up in the cup? Surely the basket filter is the filter, irrespective of what the pump might be doing? I don't understand how this is happening.
Secondly, the strange pump noise typically only happens first cup of the morning... then it seems to get better. I can't help thinking that its on the way out or something. How hard is it to replace? (I'm reasonably mechanical... I replaced the steam pump on my old EM6900).
Thanks for any and all suggestions/comments,
Yokki
