Short answer is it will probably be ok, but it depends.

Longer answer is there is some heat coming off the top and it depends on the quality of your cabinets and ventilation. Some microwave cubbies have ventilation at the rear, the same as a fridge does to remove the heat, this would be ideal. This can probably be mitigated if the machine is kept at the front of the shelf, which would make it easier to use. The Anna has a short warm up time so will probably be only on for short periods. You will notice any browning of the ceiling of the cubby quickly.

My bigger question would be height of this shelf, ideally for reasonable use it would be normal bench height up to about 200mm higher. Eye level, for instance, would be difficult.

Required clearance below cabinets for machine

Hi all, I am considering purchasing my first ever coffee machine (a Lelit Anna) however with a small kitchen and very few power points I have limited options for where to place it.

I am ideally wanting to place it in an opening above my oven (where a microwave would normally go), it's about 36cm high, the Anna is 34cm.

Besides the challenges of having to refill the water reservoir, should I be concerned about only having 2cm of clearance above the machine? What sort of ventilation is typically required, and should I be concerned about heat affecting the cabinetry or machine itself?

    Thanks.
