Understand the life pressures, my vote would be to move on. Breville Dual Boiler is pretty tough to beat in the under $1k market, and having upgraded from the EM7000 to the BDB I reckon you will notice a solid upgrade.

They say it’s better to have loved than never loved at all….
The crossroads - Group handle has starting working loose during extraction…
My money is firmly on a worn collar. This unit was second hand three years ago, and was already showing signs of wear, but I’ve been able to manage it fine with new seals and general maintenance till now.
It might also be a worn group handle….
But I’m pretty sure the new basket I had to buy a few months back has been the nail in the coffin by putting extra stress on all the work surfaces.
So… what to do?
Replace the collar myself? I have the ability, but not really the time to do it, or more so would need to do it over a few days…. Kids and work… thanks.
Pay someone to do it? How much??? Any tech recommendations?
Or is it time to move on? What should I buy in the $1000 arena??
We’ve had a great run and I’ve more than got my $300 worth out of it.
