I have been lurking here for a couple of months looking on with envy at all the fine machines while plugging away with a Sunbeam EM4800 and a DeLongi grinder. I think I used to enjoy the coffee from it a lot more until I found this site.
I finally cracked and bought an Isomac Zaffiro and the Granmacinino Grinder from Di Bartoli this morning. Took a lot to convince myself that a needed to spend that much on a coffee machine. To aid anyone else considering a purchase along these lines, here are my rather dubious rationalisations;
1) Aussie dollar is down, prices might go up
2) Economy is stuffed - i might not have the cash again soon
3) No decent cafe near me
4) Spend the money on something I want before my wife buys another "investment swimsuit"
5) its very shiny!
Now i just need to convince my wife...
Just got home and started it up and after a bit of trail and error was able to get a couple of decent shots. Now very wired!
I was not able to sign up for the course that DiBartoli offer with new machines as I live out of Sydney but i will try to arrange it asap. Anyhow, to save a bit of time getting things running smoothly, are there any tips/guides relevant to this machine?
love, light and peace,
