Just posted three new articles this morning. I get so many questions from folks I thought I would cover them all at once:
- How a Pressurestat Works - A simplified explanation of how a pressurestat controls temperature in many espresso machines.
- How a Pressure Relief Valve Works - A simplified explanation of how a pressure relief valve (sometimes called an over pressure valve or "OPV") operates.
- How a Heat Exchanger ("HX") Works - A simplified explanation of how a heat exchanger works.
These were written as a primer on the subjects just covering the very basics of each subject so that someone thinking about moving from a single boiler, basic espresso to something more elaborate would have a better understanding of what they were looking at. Each has some simple, generic diagrams to illustrate the subject.
They are all located in the "Coffee College" area on the right side of my website. And as always- no advertising and noting for sale- just lots of useful information.
