Re: sunbeam cafe series knock box
Howie,
Google a webiste called "queen b". NZ web based homewares store. I searched high and low to get mine about 3 months ago and these guys were the only ones that had some in stock. Not sure if they still have themm but worth a try.
I think mine cost $70 landed.
And yes, they have indeed stopped making them.

Only better if you want to empty it every time you make coffee IMHO...Way too small for most...Originally posted by 617A7365666B120 link=1248586565/5#5 date=1248731392really...Originally posted by 3C3039393A3A002C31303D5F0 link=1248586565/3#3 date=1248601407they pop up on the evelbay all the time. why not go for a grindstein cheaper and better

Re: sunbeam cafe series knock box
I know people with the Grindstein and have so troubles cleaning it, you can buy a larger sized one that holds more if size is a problem for you.
Comes in diffrent colours if you like that kind of thing and cheaper than a sunbeam. Thats just my opinion though i was not telling you what to think.

The Grindstein do suffer from the small mans syndrome, however they are a brilliant little unt, cheap, sturdy, strong and dishwasher safe. I just throw my pucks out every couple days no biggys!!
I thnk th Stein is great!!

Ouch. I havent formally counted but I reckon mine holds at least 6 pucks (doubles). They just keep on tucking themselves in there. Its the Tardis of knockboxes! :POriginally posted by 2C736B7D767D7178787B7B737F701E0 link=1248586565/6#6 date=1248731561empty it every time you make coffee IMHO

Re: sunbeam cafe series knock box
Another vote for the Grinstein, I have one at home and one at work.
Always amazes me how after a good clean they come up looking brand new.
OK theyre a bit small but if youre making 5 coffees a day then youre probably spending 30mins of each day at your machines. Whats a few extra seconds to empty the grounds bin?

Re: sunbeam cafe series knock box
I have seen a Breville knock-box in the shops for $45 ...Big W, Retravision, Harvey Norman just to name a few. Quite a large metal box/tube thingy (brushed stainless) with plastic insert that comes out...very sturdy looking and feeling. Looks pretty much identical to the Sunbeam box...

Re: sunbeam cafe series knock box
Mmm, dont mean to shoot you down. They are indeed quite different beasts. To start with the Breville is loaded with plastic. The Sunbeam is a fair bit stronger i would say. The breville would probably be easier to clean though, given there are less parts to pull apart! Horses for courses i guess! Love my Sunbeam knock box though!!Originally posted by 5E5B5C5E424B2E0 link=1248586565/13#13 date=1250034354I have seen a Breville knock-box in the shops for $45 ...Big W, Retravision, Harvey Norman just to name a few.
