  • Which machine?

I couldnt find a feedback thread, so hopefully this is the right place for this.

Ive noticed a LOT of threads with people asking what machine should they get for their budget and wondered if its worth having a sticky thread in each budget section detailing the choices available and their +ves and -ves.

For each machine, there could be a brief description section, average price, notes on things such as thermoblock(s)/boiler/twin boiler/HX etc, reliabiliy, other choices...blah blah blah.

Also preface each one with a statement about fresh coffee and a good grinder being the most important things to have before looking at a machine.

    What do you think?

    Sounds good in principle... BUT

1: Budget is not every thing :-)

2: Most people get the specks and $$$ from elsewhere

It is only when they start to define what they expect Vs Want Vs Need that real advice can be given..

I think a CS or two have already done something up, but many can not find it and or  depending on what ya looking for...  Is seen not to provide what is wanted..  Why; because until people start to understand, they do not know why the points listed are there.

Bugger need to find that thread now

    See here http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1224157582/#34

    Just my 2cents worth :-)

But yes - Worth a sticky...

        Re: Which machine?

The big problem with this is that a lot of people only ever buy one machine in a category - Im considered odd by a few people because I have two, and more than half of the people Ive met have started restoring (or finished restoring) double boiler monsters.

        cheers,

        J
