Re: How to change Handle of Group handle
if it is like my gaggia one there is a little cap on the very end (not basket end) that then, when removed revels a long tube/hole/shaft at the end of which is a nut... socket on a long extension and it came right off then it all just slid apart.

Re: How to change Handle of Group handle
You do have a VICE... Ya just not thinking clearly :-)Originally posted by 003F393E23240E4A0 link=1254709059/0#0 date=1254709059Ok. So I decided to change the handle on my group handle. It currently has the stock black Expobar plastic one. I purchased a faux wood one from Coffee Parts. I want to use the faux wood one as I just like the change and its shorter than stock, which is good with the confined space the machine is in.
Anyway, I am not sure how to remove the existing handle. It seems to be stuck to the filter basket holder pretty well. Does anyone have a suggestion as to how I can remove the handle without damaging it? Oh, and I dont possess a vice (unfortunately)
Wrap the plastic one in some cloths - adds the the Dia and increases the force you can apply..
If that does not work
1: Rental or Own home ???
One Find a door that has wooden frame - Open door and near the hinge; place teh plastic handle ( wrapped in cloth..).
The carefully close teh door on the handle and with the other hand grip the PF head / group and turn (Should be Anti -Clockwise)..
If it work s great - If not and or you stuff up... YOU own it.. Not ME...
My old grandma used this in teh bush to loosen lids on jars that got sticky and or under pressure (preserves). In them days ya had to do it ya self...
