    Re: group handle handles

I did go to Grinders. They removed a handle from a Silvia portafilter but the diameter of the bolt was to large. It looked like the one in the photo on the Di Bartoli site.
My handle looks more like the one that scarey has. And it is the same type of break. I may try welding a piece of rod onto the bolt. That should do it.

If it broke the same way my Silvia GH did you may want to attempt a repair - the local Nut & Boltarium had a 100mm bolt to suit which I glued back into the handle. (Hmmmm - perhaps I should have waited for them to order the stainless one in)

    Portafilter handles

This is my first post, so if Im violating any protocols please let me know. My machine is a Rancilio Miss Betsy. Yes this is an old machine but still works well. I have a Sunbeam grinder which I dont find ideal, but it will do for now. One problem with having such an old machine is finding spares. Mocopan used to support Rancilio machines but not any more. The last time I went there for a replacement group head gasket they gave me a phone number in Sydney(Im in Melbourne by the way). I eventually got the gaskets after I originally recieved the wrong ones. But I was told they were the last two in stock since Miss Betsy is too old.
My latest problem occurred on New Years Eve when the handle broke on the portafilter. This forced me to dust the cobwebs of the cafetiera. Is there anyone out there who knows of a spare parts dealer in Melbourne. Somewhere that I can just go to and get the part that I need, the handle in this case. Every site that I find on the web is in Sydney. If I have to do mail order then so be it.
