Re: Clickless Espro! Can it be fixed?
Lets put it this way....even I havent tamped 2 million handles of coffee and Im used to working in cafes that push anywhere between 60 and 80 kg + a week.
In a cafe serving 50 kg a week (with an average of 90 cups of coffee from a kilogram and all made from single handles) it would take more than 4 years of tamping to reach 2 million tamps.

Ok - so I put my wifes favorite tea spoon back in the drawer - now a little bent.Originally posted by 634C465B220 link=1268446631/2#2 date=1268447624I found out from the manufacturer last year that they are put together with a 4 ton press so save your energy trying to pull it apart by hand... it aint going to happen!
Dunno how many tamps he done, no idea at all. No DAVID I didnt drop it but hey if it takes a 4 ton press to make him....Originally posted by 7557514A4D4751220 link=1268446631/3#3 date=1268457841How did the tamper lose its "click"? Did you drop it? The tamper is rated for 2 million tamps. If you can prove it lost its click in normal operation then a factory replacement may be in order if it is less than 12 months old. (What tamper comes with a 12 month warranty??)
Ok so the answer is no easy answer. Thanks anyway.
Ill take it to my friendly engineery type person and will post the results. Might help some other looney like me in therapy.

You can get it pulled apart at a good engineering workshop but I dont know anything about the clicker... I had one dismantled and turned-down to a smaller (odd) size last year but only the engineer saw it in pieces.
