Should I wait a couple weeks to buy a machine because of end of financial year specials or no real action to be expected in this regard? 8-)

Re: end of financial year sales?
Depends on how desperate you are and what you might intend to purchase..Originally posted by 3328292222470 link=1275123545/0#0 date=1275123545Should I wait a couple weeks to buy a machine because of end of financial year specials or no real action to be expected in this regard? 8-)
Then again it is also one of Pre or Post sales :-)

Re: end of financial year sales?
Have you made a short-list of machines youre interested in?
If youre looking for a Sunbeam, Krups, Breville, etc. then yes it may be worth the wait.
If youre looking at a machine rather than an appliance, I doubt it is worth waiting. Consider the current deals for the Diadema machines at $2K, cant get much better value than that IMO.

Re: end of financial year sales?
What I would do is work out a short list of machines/grinders youre interested in (which I assume youve gone) as well as extras such as tamper, cleaning products, etc. If you need/want add-ons you may get better value. For example a salesperson may prefer to give you $250 of freebies with your purchase instead of $150 off the sale price of the machine.
Contact sponsors and ask what they can offer you.
Out of interest, what is the short list?

Id second that,Originally posted by 427661776C5B476B62626161040 link=1275123545/6#6 date=1275180046You will find some very good prices already being offered around and it is unlikely they are going to get any lower between now and the end of June.
If you want something suggest you look into it right now.

Pricing is already at stocktake sale level on a whole heap of great gear....

Considering that the Oz Peso just dropped 10% against the greenback I would expect that buying anything now before new stock arrives would make sense as machine prices are all based on US$, not time of the year.

Agreed...

sage words.
Go the currency cycle batch.
Though exporters and importers try to endure the cyclical nature of currency movements, anything over 10-15% has to be dealt with.
Current floor stock should be cheaper than next import shipments unless we see a sharp bounce in the dollar.
