Re: Best of the cheaper tampers?

    Thanks for your explanation Greg.

It just goes to show that what is written can at times be interpreted incorrectly.

And youre right...Gavin has done a great job!

: Taking the looooong route and bringing this thread back on topic, shapeshifter was looking for an inexpensive 49mm tamper and has found something which suits at Jetblack...

Seems to me he has solved his problem without the need for a whole heap of marketing information. :-?

I would have thought Gregs post a fair and balanced reply detailing the plans for future models of the barista being available in smaller sizes of which most here would have been unaware. While not as cheap as the OP might like it is available in the colour he she wanted and colour is important :

Dont want to bring this out of topic again, but just feel that I need to quickly clarify something:

Its just a pity this respect doesnt normally run both ways.
Greg, I can assure you that in this case it does.

glad you found a solution, shapeshifter.

I read somewhere someone saying that their friend uses his thumbs to tamp and it was a fantastic espresso.
                  Thats interesting.

I can laugh, but i am gonna give that a go for sh!ts and giggles.

Re: Best of the cheaper tampers?

On reflection, I think the best of the cheaper tampers is no tamper whatsoever...Get the dose right, even out the distribution and then load away...

                    It worked for Giancarlo

Yes, well, we all know that the tamper was not invented to make a better extraction, but to avoid sloppy pucks. ;D
