I havent really been reading much about the Breville 900 on the other (very long) post but will that be a volumetric?

    GEE ~$850
    Expobar Office ~$2000
    Grimac Mia ~$2200
    Bezzera BZ07 DE ~$2600

The only VBM volumetric I know of is the Domobar Super Electronic which is around $3600.  It is superior to an entry level HX machine.

The quality of VBM machines is top class.  Im not sure what youre comparing them to but theyre similar quality & price to Bezzera & Diadema.

With respect to volumetric machines, these are the ones I know of in approximate increasing order of price:

    Breville Fresca
    GEE
    Expobar Office
    Grimac Mia
    Bezzera BZ07 DE
    Diadema Junior Elettronica
    La Spaziale mini Vivaldi
    VBM Domobar Super Electronic

Im sure others will be along soon to mention the ones I missed and/or correct the order I put them in.

What are you looking at spending?? Even roughly? The price jumps when you want to go from single boiler to HX or dual boiler.
Well it seems like i would have to spend $2000 plus, would like to limit it to $2500. Will just have to scrape together funds and sell stuff from the shed.

All depends on how much you want to spend.  Theres the Diadema Junior Electronica; La Spaziale Mini Vivaldi, or you could buy AMs Dalla Corte Mini, probably the smallest dual boiler volumetric you can get.  (have a look in the for sale section)

Depending on where you are you could check out a sponsor - also some sponsors websites give you a good rundown on various machines.

I have had my Sunbeam EM6900 since Jan 2006, no problems other than failed steam vib pump (replaced under warranty). I like the volumetric function, just the steam takes forever to froth milk. What options are there for similar size, non plumbed volumetric? I notice Vibiemme machines are more expensive than most, Are vibiemme machines that superior they are worth the extra?
