Well done Anthony. The Botticelli is one of three machines Im currently looking at.(the others are Sivia & Sunbeam) But I have to admit the Botticelli is the sexiest of the three (& the more expensive).

    Cheers

hi anthony i also have a botticelli- its a lovely machine- with care i believe the espresso can equal that of almost any machine- the only place my commercial bezzera surpasses it is that u dont have to wait to heat up for milk texturing and that u are a bit limited when making a larger number of coffees
a little hint i found on:
    http://www.coffeekid.com/archived/rancilio/cheatsilvia
was putting the steam button on just as u start the coffee extraction- less time to wait for steam to be ready
then empty water from the steam arm well before u r ready to steam- this and a 2 hole steam tip from coffeeparts.com allows lots of microfoam
to heat up the ecm quickly also look at the chetaing miss silvia page
sorry if u already know this stuff
    a lovely machine
    best of luck
    brett

    The new brewing beast .....

Thanks to great assistance from Chris at TalkCoffee, Ive now added to my coffee firepower a sleek, very beautiful ECM Botticelli.
If the Silvia is a tank, then the Botticelli is the same tank, dressed up in finery for a night on the town.
Im getting the hang of it (after having mastered my Pavoni Professional) and the results are starting to be just great. And the steampower is unbelievable. My wife and I are very happy, and the caffeine just keeps coming.
Working...
