  • Anyone here with a LaScala Butterfly?

Seems in the same ilk as ECM Ghiotto/Isomac Millenium etc - but a useful saving (~$500).
    Anyone know much about them?

Yeah, I think there a couple of owners here in CS, not many though :-?. Heres another post with some thoughts on the LS Butterfly...http://coffeesnobs.com.au/YaBB.pl?num=1121576985/45#45.

I know sometimes a certain machine will catch your eye for a host of reasons but if I was you, I wouldnt restrict myself to just focussing on the LS Butterfly. There are many machines that are similarly capable and similarly specified that can be bought from our Site Sponsors for less cost and of course, for more cost. If there are specific aspects of the Butterfly that impress you, maybe its worth a try to ask the Site Sponsors to demo machines that have the same attributes? Its worth a go you know ,

        Cheers,
        Mal.

Re: Anyone here with a LaScala Butterfly?

Hi David.  Ive had a Butterfly for about 9 months now and am still loving it.  Its my first (and hopefully only) HX machine so I cant really offer any comparisons but Ive certainly enjoyed using mine.  My observations, in no particular order, include:
              - Seems to heat up quickly ~20 mins without needing any flushing etc.
              - Easy to clean (mine has got painted sides) and looks great.
              - Stable temperature if you follow a consistent flushing routine.
              - Good steaming performance (e.g. even I can produce reasonable foam and Im certainly no expert)

I looked at most of the comparable machines including the ones that youve mentioned and thought that the Butterfly offered the best value - at least it seemed that way here in NZ.

Send me a PM if youd like any more info.

              Happy hunting!
              Andy
