After my recent move to Canberra, I decided to give Miss Silvia a good clean. In my quest for perfection, I unscrewed the spout off the PF to clean inside, which needed doing, it was filthy. Noticed a bit of string around the thread on the PF, so I cleaned that off too. During the reassembly phase, the spout now screws a quarter of a turn further up and aligns with the handle instead of being perpendicular.
Obviously the thread string is what is used at the assembly plant to make sure the spout screws up to where it should be. At the moment its not an issue because I prefer a double latte anyway, but Im sure one day Ill have to fix it back properly.
For any of the Silvia gurus, is there a special washer which will return my PF to the correct configuration without having to resort to more string?
