    Hi
Id suggest (and Im sure most people here would agree with me) that a Greg Pullman Tamper is the way to go. See http://www.coffeetamper.com.au

I own a Classic and got a Pullman tamper to go with it about a week ago... its a fantastic piece of gear! Fits the basket perfectly, has a great feel to it, nice and heavy and looks beautiful.

On the order page you will see where you can select your machine type. The classic is in the list, so I just selected that, and then gave my baskets a quick measure and found them to be 58.7mm to my eye, so put that in as well... and Greg did his thing! (and did it DAMN well I must say...this man really does know what he is doing).

If you are worried about a perfect fit, you can send Greg your filter baskets and he will make the Tamper exact for your baskets. I didnt bother with this as I had just got my new toy and didnt want to part with it, and to me my tamper fits great anyways, so it saved being unable to use the Classic for a week!

I bought a spare basket to use while my basket was on holidays with Greg. It wasnt a very long holiday, so I figure it was worth it!

That spare basket now has a small hole drilled into the bottom, to fit a thermocouple probe ... it was a shame to see it just sitting there.

It also makes a nice tamp stand.
