Ahh shiny... Not completely sold on the shiny stainless I prefer the brushed look.

Is the STAINLESS STEEL heat exchanger something new or taking the new Sunbeam thermoblock technology further?

Personally, after having Giotto, I think the 2L water res is too small, and as was also pointed out the drip tray looks small..... in a mornings use of Giotto, the driptray is full almost to the brim, and I get approx 2.5 days from the water.

Lifes great being a snob :P

                  Dont you tempt me !!

Um, actually John had one on the bench when I was shopping around. I think the fish that can barely see over Giotto now would not like the imposition of Vennie.

                    Bling bling bling! *drool*

How does the stainless steel heat exchanger boiler in this machine compare to your typical brass boilers in say a Silvia? (In both how it works and performance?)

Any idea what ballpark the "RRP" is in on these babies?

Is that a carry handle on the top? Portable as well !

I was wondering the same thing Matt.

You certainly know when you touch the non-protected bit on mine.

                            Re: A newie coming soon...

Weve had one of these for about three weeks now and very happy with it.
It does make a bit of a statement sitting in its own alcove (shrine?)
next to the fridge but were learning to live with it

Its taken a bit of practice to get a routine going, but its mostly good
shots coming out now. Compared to the old Gaggia Espresso (acquired secondhand,
ten years of faithful service), its opened up a whole new world.

The 2 litre reservoir is a bit small, but made a lot easier to use by
being refillable without removing the top (just swing back the "carry
                            handle" and fill).

The drip tray is a good size, certainly better than some we looked at.
Measured it at a bit more than 750ml. Takes a while to fill it. Its also
a good size and shape for resting things on.

The handle stays cool even after being on for hours. The group gets
pretty hot though, as would be expected.

                            Its a great machine ...
