    Hello all,
Just a quick update with my upgraded equipment list, due to a new acquisition.  I am now the proud owner of an ECM Giotto premium and Best grinder courtesy of Chris at Talk Coffee

My list of toys now includes:
    Giotto premium
    Best Grinder
    1 & 2 spouted porta filters
Naked porta filter with triple basket
    1 cup stovetop
    3 cup plunger (for work)
12 cup plunger (if we get a flood of guests)
    An ibrik
    Espro tamp
    Coffeetraining.com tamp
    Sunbeam ‘bang bang’
    300ml & a 600ml jug
    Milk frothing thermometer
Modified Aldi popper (making way for a ‘Corretto’ shortly)
A couple of kg of beans
    Digital scales
    Heaps of cleaning equipment
Lots and lots of cups of various sizes

    I think that’s about all 8-)

      GDay All

I have been lurking here for a while soaking up all the good information. I recently updraded my breville thermoblock machine to silvia and rocky combo. While I am still playing with the new machine and adjusting the grind, dose and tamp the results are encouraging with coffee quality and milk texturing a big improvement on the small breville.

I also have a sunbeam bang bang, a spring loaded adjustable tamper (it was a gift), 2 milk jugs and a milk thermometer.

Next purchase will be a Pullman tamper and then I might look into a heat gun set up for roasting.

I am happy to say that I had a Diadema Junior Plus Semi-Automiatic and a Macap MC4 delivered on Monday thanks to CosmoreX Coffee.

I also added a Breville Crazy Popper to my collection last weekend and enjoyed roasting my first couple of batches of beans.

I think the Greg Pullman tamper will also be next on my shopping list (maybe an early christmas present!!).

Re: What Coffee Equipment do you all have - Part 2

                        Hi Everyone,
Got one of the Gaggia models as a Christmas present a couple of years ago. By that time I already knew that Silvia was going to be it. So, ignoring the risk of offending the givers, I rushed to the shop the first day after Christmas, returned the Gaggia, doubled my money and bought the Silvia. Then I learned about grinders so doserless Rocky was the next purchase.

Then I found a US website of 1st-online where I bought a 3-hole steam tip for the Silvia designed specially for this machine. It improved its frothing capability dramatically. Mustnt forget a tamper they sell with the Rancillio logo on it. Expensive but great.

Time marches on though and after feeling that Ive outgrown the Silvia, I upgraded to Isomac Monidale. It was a great journey.

                          HI Guys,

at home Ive got a Bezzera BZ99 (mainly use it when I am entertaining - which tends to be a lot) and a recently purchased Gaggia Classic (which, despite some bad publicity, is making excellent espresso), and a Rocky doserless grinder.

Also got a single cup stovetop for camping, which you fill with water first, and flick the switch, to make your milk, then refill with water and coffee to make a single shot of espresso!

And Ive just retired my Baby Gaggia after many faithful years of service - gave it to a mate who has just become a dad - hes gunna need it!

                          Cheers,

                          Pat

I have heard that the Gaggia produces an okay espresso from others as well. I suppose the rocky and fresh coffee helps you out with that though as well.

                              Heres my addition...

                              -Gaggia Coffee Deluxe
                              -Sunbeam EM0480 grinder
-Ikea dustbin for a knock box. Its our green waste bin that we empty in our compost bin. I aim to break it to justify a propper knockbox
-B&D popcorn popper now a dedicated coffee roaster
-Digital Multi Meter for temp probing my coffee roasts + stop watch
-Tamper Starbucks gave me when they didnt have one to sell :-)
-Various other paraphernalia in the way of plungers, stove tops, milk jugs, thermometers...maybe a garage sale is in order
-Briki from Cyprus for making mud (Greek/Turkish coffee)
-Vietnam cup top dripper for a mean Vietnamese cofee brew - fantastic with ice and condensed milk

Theres more stuff in the cupboard, Im sure of it, I just dont dare to look in case my wife sees it and puts an end to my hobby!

                              Javabeen.

                                The original ag. pipe knock-tube
